The Hague, To-day.
A STATE OF SIEGE is to be proclaimed shortly in some districts in Holland which will place execu- tive powers entirely in the hands of the military authorities.
The measure, which was announced by the Prime Minister in the Lower Chamber and which ap- plies to certain frontier and "inundation" terri- tories, is to be introduced in view of Holland's defence programme.
It is recalled that similar action was taken in 1914/18.
It is not intended to place any fur- ther restrictions on the Press.
It is unofficially reported that the Dutch have already released a quan- tity of water in the areas to be flood- ed in the event of an attack.—Reuter.
