Herr von Ribbentrop's Danzig speech gave the lead to the Nazi press for a windy chorus of hate and menace against Britain.

Field-Marshal Goering's newspaper stated: "The moment has come when the war which Britain wanted must shower down on the British Isles themselves.”- Reuter.

SOVIET NOTE TO BRITAIN

ranking officers in Berlin yesterday. Conferences of this sort have been so numerous dur- ing the past few days that it seems that the Nazi Government is still in a state of indecision.

Paris, To-day. General Gamelin, Commander-in- Chief of the Allied land forces, was received in Paris last evening by the Premier, M. Daladier-Reuter.

EXPLOSION IN M.T.B. OUTSIDE HONG KONG

An explosion, which damaged the craft and injured a naval rating, occurred on

a Motor- Torpedo-Boat outside Hong Kong this morning.

The M.T.B. was on patrol at the time of the accident and no details are known.

The naval authorities issued the following statement, in view of cer- tain rumours which found their way into circulation:

"Motor Torpedo Boat No. 11 was damaged this morning by a slight eX- plosion in the engine-room-

"One naval rating was. Injured. "The M.T.B. has returned to har- bour for repairs.
