ASTOUNDING STORY OF U-BOAT
London, To-day.
The U-boat commander who sank the Bibby liner "Yorkshire" ordered the captain of the "Independence Hall," the American rescue ship, to leave 100 Bri- tish soldiers and airmen to drown, according to the "Daily Express."
The Servicemen were being invalided home from India and the Far East. The American captain, however, ignored the orders and most of the men were saved with their wives and families in the darkness.
Survivors declare that the crew of the "Independence Hall" were incensed at the ruthlessness of the German order.
