EXTRAORDINARILY well-matched competitors spur- red on by the frenzied shouts of scores of supporters, every available vantage point occupied by eager-faced youths, that was Victoria Recreation Club yesterday afternoon.

The occasion was the finals of the Inter-School swim- ming sports which were literally a shouting success, com. petition being open until the last event when King's College just got their noses in front to win the aggregate trophy by 7 points with Wah Yan deserving runners-up:

Tam Tjong-thian soon proved his superior- ity in the 50 yards sprint and was never ex-swimming third, made up a great deal of tended.

The medley relay kept spectators at fevers, pitch. King's and St. Joseph's struggled neck-and-neck throughout the distance and so close was the distance between the final swimmers when they touched, that a verdict of dead-heat would have occasioned no sur- prise.
