BRITAIN IN FAR BETTER POSITION THAN IN 1914
London, To-day.
GREAT BRITAIN IS far better prepared to-day than in 1914. She has had a year in which to store supplies, to ́arm and institute compulsory ser- vice.
She is not compelled to dissipate her effort as in 1914 by expeditions to Mesopotamia, Egypt and the Dardanelles, but can devote the entire pow- er of the Navy in stopping supplies for Germany, and place a million men on the Western Front where unity of command was effected at the out- set..

KING AND QUEEN PAY VISITS
London, To-day.
Germany begins this war with her people underfed and dispirited and her supplies sufficient only for a short
war.
Her hopes of drawing raw materials from Russia are fading and the meagre German · gold' reserve is in- sufficient to pay for supplies from the few countries whose communications with Germany are still open.
Moreover all neutrals are im- pressed by the British firmness and recognise Britain's right to control supplies for the enemy.
“BLITZKRIEG"
Germany's only hope lies in blitzkrieg but this has no chance of success against the well-prepared Maginot Line.
Britain still commands the North which have Sea, despite the losses been scrupulously admitted by the Admiralty.

NAZI CLAIM TESTED
Germany claims to command the North Sea which she calls the Ger- man Ocean but no single German merchantship can enter the North Sea. to-day. None are able to penetrate the ring of British warships and air- craft behind which British sea-borne trade continues uninterruptedly.
The German fleet has made no at- tempt to break this ring of steel whilst air attacks against warships have proved costly failures. --- Reuter,
