TWO NAZI RAIDERS SHOT DOWN

London, To-day. Subsequent to reports of enemy activity along the East Coast yesterday afternoon, two enemy aircraft were observed off the North East Coast.

They were attacked by R.A.F. fighters and both were shot down and fell into

the sea.

The crew of one enemy machine was rescued.

All our aircraft returned safely to their base. Reuter.

London, To-day. The Royal Mail steamer Stola, ply- ing between Scapa and Thurso was attacked by German planes yesterday morning.

SECOND RAID ON ORKNEYS

London, To-day.

An Admiralty communique states: A second air raid was carried out over the Orkneys from approximately 12.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. yesterday by two formations of four and six aircraft res- pectively.

No damage was done and no casual- ties sustained-

One German aircraft is reported to have been destroyed-Reuter.

London, To-day, Scotland was raided twice yesterday. In addition to the raid on Scapa Flow, there was a raid on the Orkneys.

No damage was done in this second raid, and there were no casualties, but one enemy plane was brought down.

In the Scapa Flow rald, the Royal Mail steamship plying be- tween Scapa and Kurau was at- tacked but not hit.

During the East Coast raid in Eng-, land, two enemy planes were downed.
