FINAL CLUB
RUGGER TRIAL
The final Club trial game will take place on the Club ground at Happy Valley on Wednesday, 18th, October at 5.15 p.m. Two sides have been pro- visionally selected as follows; but there will be changes during the course of play and all members present will be sure of a game. Probables will play in coloured jerseys and Possibles in white.
WATCHING St. Andrew's, Ladies in action on Saturday I could not but be impressed at the potentialities of the side.

HONG Kong Softball League got off to a flying start on King's Sunday with five tussles on the bill-of-fare. Park was teeming with fans from 11 a.m. till dusk.
With the exception of the Chung Hwa-3 M.G. clash, however, all games played were one-sided affairs which appointed a big turn out.
In the opening game Recreio "B" had an easy time troucing Hong Kong Baseball Club. 9-1. Dietz prevented a shut out for the Molthenmen when he crossed the plate in the sixth on a walk and a wild throw by Mike "Fats" Mendonça.
The Clubmen only connected for one jut off Juck Noronha's offerings, Billie Clague 'being the lucky one to con- nect.
Doc Molthen

STARTED SCORING
Zinho Gosano started the scoring in the second frame. With two outs he clouted a three-bagger to score Tony Alves and 'Fonseca, and stole home when backstop Silva muffed the throw in.

players for "B" were 'Leiman at third, Zinho Gosano at center-field and Henry Noronha at first base.
The Hong Kong Ball Club-Filipino | Club game was a merry-go-round for the former to win 20-2. The game was closely "contested till the fourth inning. In this canto Hong Kong Ball Club garnered seven tallies on five hits.
The Ball Club boys rallied with nine more runs in the fifth and two in the Last frame. The Filipinos were blanked in all innings except the seventh when they managed to squeeze in two runs on a hit and æltnuffed fly by H. Ali.
The Filipinos committed eight errors to their opponents' two:
Hong Kong Ball club made 17 hits against the Filipinos' three. Dave Leonard's homer which cleared the left-field fence was a beauty and the longest seen for some time.

Wally took batting honours with two for two while Nip Lum clouted a homer, the ball rolling to deep centre

A marathon was staged on the Recreio ground on Sunday after. noon. Recreio “A” ran themselves ragged rounding bases to estab- fish a new blank-out high 37-nil against CBA.
The rumbling Recs pounded "Rusty" Ferdoseyeff's offering for 22 hits while CBA only replied with three bingles.

SILVA-NETTO'S PITCHING In the nightcap which lasted till dusk, International Athletic Club were humbled by Victoria Recreation Club, 9-3. The game was featured by Carlos Silva-Netto's superb hurling, fanning ten batters with nary a walk,

Besides having a weak pitching staff the International Club played loose baseball erring five times to al- low the Swimmers to score nine runs on five hits.
Albert Leonard and S. Bux took turns on the hillock for I.A.C. When not pitching Bux was behind the plate and made a very good job of it at catching. In fact if he could pitch like he can catch he would be the best pitcher in the League!
Then there was Miss Stella Roberts. I always felt that this player was wast- ed in the junior team last season. She stood head and shoulders above the remainder of that forward-line. Her display on Saturday confirmed that view.
Miss Roberts is a cool player with lots of energy and enthusiasm and her experience in the company of such fine forwards as Mrs. Bliss and Miss F. Wong should be of inestimable benefit to her.

to the St. Andrew's forward-line | ONLY doubts I entertain with regard are in regard to the wings. Miss Florrie Wong-played--a-very sound game in the inside position and is possessed of a good shot in front of goal.
As the Saints have never been well served in the matter of sharpshooters, I feel that they would be well advised to keep her at inside-right.
This would leave the right-wing berth vacant, Miss Hicks was tried in that position on Saturday and although I admired the manner in which she stuck to her task-she never gave up trying--she has not really the speed, or the power in her hit for an effective. winger.
Best solution of this problem, as I see it, would be the promotion of Miss Chung Hwa beat No. 3 M. G. Coy.
Betty Longbottom. Not, as yet, very clever with her stick, Miss Longbottom H.K.V.D.C.to the tune of 9-3 but it
