Paris, To-day.
The fiercest air battles of the war on the western front are officially re- ported from French Headquarters to Paris.
In the last 24 hours, British and French reconnaissance patrols have clashed repeatedly with German planes over the German lines.
The French say that they have not yet checked on planes which have not returned, but it has been established that German and Allies losses have been about equal.
BRITISH LOSSES UNKNOWN
In London yesterday, it was stated that in the R.A.F. clash with German machines were planes, two German brought down in flames,
The R.A.F. patrol was only a small formation and was engaged by a stronger German squadron. The Air Ministry in London says it is unable at this early stage to say what losses, if any, the R.A.F. suffer- ed in this engagement.
No complete picture can be obtain- éd until all the pilots have returned, news of forced landings reported and all these reports collated.--Reuter.
GERMAN VERSION
Berlin, To-day. The German High Command claims that two French and ten British planes were brought down and that the German Air Force lost only two. ----Reuter.
