TOO LATE

Boy Scouts' usually serve as "casualties" in the various tests of home defence throughout the country, writes a Manchester "Guardian" correspondent.

in one town during recant blackout many Boy Boouts wore scattered in prostrato positions through the darkened streets, ready to be put into aplints and carried off · in ambulances by efficient nurses.

But when one party of V.A.D.'s, who had been delayed, reached the spot where their last casualty should have been lying, all they found was a piece of paper on which was written:-"Have blad to death and gone home."
