The Hamburg-Amerika line freigh- ter Odenwald arrived in Yokohama yesterday after reversing her courte in mid-Pacific soon after the outbreaks of war.
She was bound for the west coast of the United States but the captain put about when only 800 miles from port because he feared the American authorities would intern her.
Only a few tons of fuel were left when she reached Japan-Reuter.

Latest reports from Parls state that the German forces in the Saarbrucken sector are again making desperate attempts to re- cover important ground, but des- pite a terrific barrage, they have been unable to dislodge the mas- sive French infantry operations. -Our Own Correspondent.
