SUSPENSION OF ALL UP EMPIRE AIR-MAIL. BERVICE

As from 5.00 p.m. Monday, 4th September, the all up Empire air mail service la suspended for the time being..

First class mail for destinations served by: Imperial Airways _w'ether included. In the all up scheme or not will be subjected to a surchage of $1.00 per half ounce it sent by air, in addition to the present air mail rates.

Letters may however be sent to guch destinations by surface transport at ́ the following rates;-.

(A) To-British Possessing—

15 cents for the first ounce

10 cents for each succeeding ounce

10 cents per postcard

(B) To Foreign: Countries:---

25. cents for the first ounce

15 cents for each mucceeding ounce

16 cents per postcard

All letters intended for despatch By air must be so superscribed, and bear a blue air mail label.

AIR MAIL BY IMPERIAL AIRWAYS

The bi-weekly services of Imperial Airways to and from London have been, suspended and a service once a week will operate instead.

Under the new schedule arrivals will be on Sundays and departures on Wednesdays.

The next outward service will leave Hong Kong on Wednesday, September and mail for this service will close at the General Post Office- at-7 a.m. on Tuesday, 12th September. The usual notices will continue to be published in the Daily Press.

Parcel Post Service to China is subject to a Customs Embargo on cer- tain foreign goods, a list of which may be seen at G.P.O. & KPO.

In all cases parcels can only be accepted for despatch as circumstances permit and at senders risk.
