THE YUNNANFU-BURMA Highway was thrown open to public traffic last week following the settlement of a strike by some 10,000 Chinese labourers near the Burmese border. Some 50 buses of the Yunnan-Burma Highway Bus Com- pany are now operating along a stretch of 1,146 kilo- metres between Kunming, capital of Yunnan Pro- vince, and Lashio, Burmese border-town.
