WATERPROOF FEATURES

Swimmers who really mean business will always favour the helmet-shaped cap of workmanlike appearance. An improved pattern to which the Danish swimmer, Asta Winckler, has given her name has exceptional waterproof! qualities. To all intents and purposes it is a plain white rubber cap, but the secret of its success lies in a little con- cealed roll of rubber.

The cap is quite flat over the brow, but from temple to temple, and fitting particularly well down at the back of the neck, runs this extra protection, interlined in the cap, and keeping out the water where it is most prone to seep through.

A new cap has been produced this season by a well-known firm of manu- facturers of rubber goods with patent feature which they claim makes it completely watertight. The caps are exceptionally comfortable in rubber with an inner flange to fit above the ears and past which no water can get. These caps can be had in white, coral, pastel blue, yellow, red and turquoise in a special glossy finish which pre- vents them from soiling readily. -

Particularly useful and interesting are the hints issued with every cap for putting them on and taking them off correctly-not only to get full benefit of the watertight patent but also to avoid disarranging the hair.
