Opposition Fears Premier Might Take Wrong Turning
BLUNT SPEAKING IN DEBATE ON ADJOURNMENT
London, To-day. Outspoken criticism of the adjournment of Parlia- ment, during which it was suggested that Mr. Chamberlain could successfully revert to his policy of appeasement and that the Far East might prove to be another Munich, was made in the House of Commons yesterday on the de- bate on the motion for adjournment.

There are grounds for believ. ing that some progress was made at yesterday afternoon's meeting between the British and French representatives and the Soviet Foreign Commissar, M. Molotov.
However, there is no indication of early signing of the tri-par- tite pact. Reuter.

it, was submitted by the Prime Minister.
Mr. Chamberlain said the period of adjournment was shorter than usual, the reason being that the normal business of the session had been interrupted by emergency legislation.
Parliament, he thought, had dealt with all the legislation necessary at the present moment, and the House could be assured that the country was now ready for an em- ergency.
TWO REASONS
Mr. Chamberlain said there were at least two reasons why the Gov- ernment might feel it necessary to call the House together during the
recess.
“How does the Opposition know that the Far East is not going to be another Munich?” Mr. Greenwood emphasised that it was wiser for the House to sit until the Moscow pact was in the bag..
