Details have just become known of the narrow escape of two
American missionaries during the Japanese bombing of Wuchow.
A clear analysis and reaffirmation of the British Government's policy towards China has been sent to Sir Archibald Clark-Kerr, the Ambas-was sador in Chungking, for transmission to the Chinese Government in Chungking, writes the diplomatic correspondent of "The Times" this morning.
