BUTANE GAS RESERVOIR EXPLOSION CAUSES HAVOC IN ALGIERS

Algiers, To-day.

At least five were killed and about 50 injured in an explosion and fire catastrophe in the quays of Algiers yesterday.

The condition of 15 of the injured is so serious that:

they are not expected to live.

The catastrophe originated in an explosion of a reservoir containing butane gas due to the intense heat of the sun broiling over the har- bour. The explosion
