Financial support of the Western Powers for Poland is now expected to be on a larger scale than has hitherto been assumed.·

City circles are by no sceptical about the correctness of a report in the "Yorkshire Post" that, independently. of export credits, Britain and France would each grant the Polish Government a loan amounting to five million pounds sterling.

However, it is thought in the City that these loans may take the form of a Polish loan, floated in London or Paris, and guaranteed both as regards principal and in- terest by the British and French Governments.

It is further stated that the Polish economic delegation in Lon- don wishes to obtain altogether £30 millions of which £20 millions should be a guaranteed export credit for the purchase of war material in England while the re- maining ten millions would be used by the Polish Government to buy war materials in other countries. Trans-Ocean.

Trans-Ocean adds that the agree- ment will be signed at noon to-day, Britain will also grant Poland an export credit guarantee, which for the time being will amount to £8,000,000. Poland will use credit mainly for the purchase of military planes from Britain.

KOWLOON CITY ARMED ROBBERY

An armed robbery was car- ried out in Kowloon City this morning by three men.

THIEF THROWS AWAY $4,000

A burglar this morning dis- carded some $4,000 worth of jewellery after making good his escape from No. 516A, The Peak, residence of Mrs. W. M. Skinner, with $4,096 in money and jewellery.

The thief, after leaving the house, discarded the jewellery and took the money only.

SHANGHAI MURDER

Chungking, To-day- Another murder occurred in Shanghai early yesterday morning when Tso Kwei-tao, native of Anh- wei, residing in Lane No. 238 in Kaifeng Road, north of the Soochow Creek, was shot dead by an un- known assailant.
