Reuter's diplomatic correspondent understands that the British Government is inquiring in Rome in regard to the reasons why British sub- jects have been ordered to leave the South Tyrol.

The orders to leave affect some 15 British subjects, including a farmer and two elderly spinsters living in hotels.
