CHIN BACK
By BEST BALL
Keeping the chin pointed back. of the ball and at the same time turning the body well to the left is not the easiest golf fundamen tal to learn but it is a requisite tó good form. Bobby Jones is do- ing it extremely well in the, above; illustrations, with a smoothness, balance and dispatch that be- speaks a champion's form. To achieve this objective it is neces- sary, as Walter Hagen has sc aptly phrased, "to let the body move freely underneath the head."
If you are one of the players who is forced to lunge forward with the stroke despite your ef forts to stay in one place, recall Hagen's formula to mind. For one thing its mental pattern induces relaxation, one cannot think in terms of letting the body turn and keeping the head still for example if one keeps his neck muscles taut. keeps the body's factor
This position in relation to the ball undisturbed and thereby increases the chances for a well hit shot. The reason the body should turn well to the left is to avoid any slowing up the arms as they come onto the ball and follow through. Should the left hip block the path the swing will naturally slow down and hit inefficiently.
