MISGIVINGS IN ITALY OVER PACT WITH NAZIS
People's Doubts About Danzig
An intensive campaign is being conducted throughout Italy to convince the mass of public opinion that Italy could not do less than conclude the alliance with Germany which was signed in Berlin last month.
It is sought at least to secure acceptance of the alliance as an inevitable necessity if it cannot be made popular. To this end the alleged danger of en- circlement is now emphasised more than ever.
