It is not yet known when the Russian Government's reply to the latest British proposals will be de- livered, but the speech of M. Molo- toff in Moscow, in which the Soviet Premier and Acting Foreign Com- missar described the proposals as a "step forward" and indicated that the. negotiations would continue, shows that the reply will probably call for elucidation and clarification of certain points.
From what M. Molotoff said, it is felt in London that the differences which remain between the Soviet and British attitudes are of form rather than of substance, but ob viously outstanding points will have to be the subject of further negotiation before an agreement can be said to have been reache British Wireless.

Viewers saw part of the play in the challenge golf match between the open champion, R. A. Whit- combe, and the champion of South Africa, A. D. Locke, in which the latter beat Whitcombe by six and five.
