London, To-day.
Most of the London newspapers contain messages from their correspondents in Berlin giving summaries of extracts from and comment up- on detailed accounts which appeared in the German newspapers of Germany's part in se- curing the victory of the insurgent forces in the Spanish Civil War.
It was made clear in these articles - which are stat- ed to be the first admission in the German that press of German intervention in Spain assistance to General Franco in the form both of men and material began almost immediate- ly after the outbreak of the revolt against the then Spanish Government.
suggestions which were described as foreign press lies.
As early as November, 1986, Spain 6,500 men, it was stated, had been sent to Spain, and the claim is made that German air forces parti- cipated in every great action of the Civil War and in the bombing | of towns and villages.

VERY SURPRISING ! Others recall the decree issued by the German Government early in 1937 in conformity with the re- solutions of the non-intervention committee, which prohibited parti- cipation by Germans in the Spanish on the Civil War, and comment
that although the surprising fact decree was cited in German com- munications to the non-intervention committee, high German officers who contravened it by going to Spain to command German units there and to help in the training of the Spanish forces, have returned to occupy important positions in taking passage in H. This broadcast statement is un-
than a week. La Linea is still bread- less, apart from supplies from Gibr- altar.
Another statement that the peo- ple would welcome the return of Gibraltar to Spain is also resented. The loyalty of the people to Gibral- tar to the British Crown is unques-
tioned.
