GERMAN PRESS KEEPS UP ATTACKS ON NEW CHAMBERLAIN STATEMENT
Berlin, To-day.
Further criticism of the speeches of Mr. Neville Chamberlain and the French Premier, M. Edouard Daladier, is contained in the “Deuts- che Allgemeine Zeitung."
The paper protests against Mr. Chamberlain's con- necting the question of the fate of the German population in Danzig with that of Polish sover- eignty.
The "Voolkischer Beobachter" re- grets that Mr. Chamberlain "allow- led himself to further the demagogi- cal slogan that all evil comes from the aggressors.”
The paper talks of the "peaceful character of German influence in south-east Europe,” which it contrasts with the "bellicose intention of British intervention in this region.”
The paper concludes with the now familiar argument that British support has only increased Polish chauvinism, which now makes Im- possible a settlement of the Danzig problem.-Trans-Ocean.
