Harrowing Croydon Scene Refugees Fight Police: Threaten Suicide
PILOT REFUSES
TO TAKE OFF
Twelve refugees from Czecho-Slovakia fought with police in the main reception hall at Croydon aerodrome recently after two of their number had tried to escape from a 'plane waiting to take them back to the Continent.
One of the two men who ran
away was the father of the only woman among them. He was quickly caught, but the other was recaptured by police a mile away, where he had stopped a motorist.
