DRIVE FOR
REFUGEE CAMP
SCHOOL FUND
A financial drive 'on' behalf of the refugee camp schools is being made this week.
At present, there are about 500. camps, but school accommodation children in each of the six refugee exists for only 100 in each.
The others must do outdoor - work, which is most unsatisfactory owing to weather and other condi tions.
The Emergency Refugee Council are trying to raise money to build. a wooden hut in each of the Urban Camp Schools to accommodate all the refugee children, where wel- fare workers will be able to train to become self-supporting even- tually.
The money previously contribut- ed to the E.R.C. is for general relief purposes and cannot be allocated to education.. special appeal is, therefore, being made. for Refugee Schools, as it is essen tial to train these unfortunate youngsters, ab they may become in- dependent adults: We must save them from future starvation!
