COLONY TENNIS
FINE DISPLAY BY LEE WAI-TONG
(By "ADREM”)
As was generally expected, there will be an all-Toui singles tennis final. Tsui Wai-pui beat S.. A. Rumjahn on Tuesday, and yesterday, Yan-pui emerged victorious in his game with Lee Wai- tong, the score being 6-4, 6-2; 12-10.
Although both players were inclined to make errors at unexpected moments, the tennis was never dull yesterday and in the final sot, which Tsui won after a great struggle which wont to 22 games, some really thrilling rallies were witnessed.
Loe played so well in the last set and Tsui looked so worried that it is quite conceivable that the soccer player would eventually have won. He gave the impression of supreme fitness and showed more inclination to run then that he had earlier on.
The first two sets, while being fairly interesting, produced nothing very much over which to enthusa, Tsui found his touch right away and his firm ef- fortless driving on both hands, was a delight to watch.
Main feature of his game through- out, was his uncanny anticipation and ball-control. His drop-shot rarely failed to score until the last set when Les produced a counter in the form of a sharp cross-court flick.
EFFECTIVE BACK-HAND
Leo was not convincing off the ground in the first two sets.
There will be no, tennis to- day owing to the inclement weather.
