DELPHINUS IN

ADVENTUROUS

TRIP

It was revealed on the arrival of the Delphinus this morning. that when she made a forced landing, owing to bad weather, on the beach at Hailingshan yesterday, she was fired upon by Chinese irregulars.

The shots were fired from the top of a hill but no-one was hit and only trifling damage was done to the machine.

As soon as the identity of the plane was discovered (the guerillas had been hombed "as- lier by a Japanese plane) an officer came down from the hill for

and apologised profusely the mistake to the pilot. His men then helped to manhandle the plane, turning her round. enabling her to take off again for Fort Bayard.
