GERMAN BLOW TO CZECH FOOTBALL

Bukharest, April 6.-The fam- ous Czecho-Slovak football team Slavia has been refused permis- sion by the German authorities to play at Bukharest during the Easter holidays.

The matches in Rumania had been fixed before the German an- nexation of the Czech provinces, but up to now there had been res- son to believe that sport activities of the Czechs would not be inter- fered with by the new masters in Prague.

When it became known during the last few days that there were difficulties, the Rumanian football - clubs concerned asked the German Legation in Bukharest to inter- vene. This was done, but with- out success. In consequence, fix- tures with a German football team which was also to play in Bukharest during the Easter holi- days have been summarily can- celled by the Rumanian football authorities-Exchange.
