BERLIN, TO-DAY.

ALTHOUGH THE NAZI PRESS HAS ADOPTED AN ATTITUDE SUGGESTING GERMAN RE- JECTION OF PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT'S PEACE CHALLENGE, HITLER HAS GIVEN NO DIRECT CLUE TO HIS VIEWS.

It is predicted in Nazi quarters that no reply, if any reply is made, will be forthcoming until after Hitler's birthday celebrations which commence Wednesday evening and conclude on Thurs- day evening.

Hitler is not, therefore, hurrying to reply to Pre

sident Roosevelt's peace appeal.

However, it is pointed out that political circles and

the inspired press have made it clear what Nazi Germany thinks of it.

Hitler had a talk with Joachim von Ribbentrop, his Foreign Minister, at Munich yesterday after- noon lasting nearly two hours. Hitler is in close touch with Mussolini, and it is understood he had a lengthy telephone talk with Field-Marshal Goering in Rome. Hitler was expected to return land! to Berlin last night.

It has a headline: "Terror" Typical Nazi press comment is against Germans in London.” !- provided by the "Frankfurter Reuter. Zeitung."

An editorial in this paper says: "The revision of the Versailles Treaty by Germany and Italy is not yet concluded.'

It adds that they rely upon their own strength to carry it through....
