NIGHT UNLIKELY

Those badminton followers who recall enjoyable "Presentation Nights", held in previous seasons, will regret to learn that the pos sibility of a similar function being held this year, is very remote.

The authorities originally had in mind „a^^date at the end of this month but indications being that little support could be expected, it has more or less been decided to give up the idea..

Principal obstacles are the UnÏ- versity, examinations, the absence from the Colony of a large party of Recreio players and other coun-

RECREIO TO MEET THE REST

Only cricket match this after- |noon in which any interest will be [centred, will be at King's Park where the Recreio team, holders of the First Division Cricket Shield for the first time in the history of the game in the Col- [ony, meet The Rest.

Recreio will be at full strength, while their opponents, skippered by T. A. Pearce, of Club, although selected more from a point of view of representation than power, is nevertheless sufficiently well- balanced to make the champions go all out to preserve their record- that of being unbeaten throughout their League programme.

The Rest will be represented by T. A. Pearce (capt.) and J. L. C. Pearce (H.K.C.C.), D. J. N. Ander- son, R. E. Lee and N. A. E. Mackay (K.C.C.), A. R. H. Esmail (CCC) Comdr. Lees and Rav. Chapman (Navy), Lt. Weedon (Army) and F. Baker (C.8.C.C.).
