LIMITLESS TESTS
DURBAN GAME
A FREAK"
(By AIR MAIL)
Melbourne. The Australian Cricket Board of Control does not agree with the demand in England and South Africa for the abolition of timé-| less Test matches.
In an interview here, Dr. R. L. Morton, a member of the Board, said that Australia, were firm in
their refusal to have limited Tests in Australia, and would like: all their Test matches in England to be play out also. mars
Occasional - protracted matches, such as the recent Durban Test, were freaks, he said, and provided no valid argument for the abolition of timeless matches.
Many time-limited matches, he added, were doomed to be drawn from the start, and this led to the batsmen trying to play out time to avoid defeat rather than going for the runs and victory.
