Chungking, To-day. Embittered struggles were in progress yesterday east and north of Kaoan between Chinese and Japanese troops, without, however, any note- worthy change in the position on either front. Particularly fierce fighting is expected in the Kaoan-Nanchang-Fenghsing triangle where both Chinese and Japanese have amassed great bodies of troops.
