ITALY MAY PROCLAIM ALBANIA AS ITALIAN MANDATED TERRITORY
+
Rome, To-day.
The British Ambassador, Lord Perth, yesterday afternoon called on the Foreign Minister, Count Ciano, for information on the events in Albania.
It is gathered that a full explanation was given him,
though no further details are available.
The fact that a purely Albanian, administrative committee has been established in Tirana to 'run' the country, is regarded as tending to show that there is as yet no in- tention of proclaiming Albania an integral part of the Italian Empire. Such reports are described in offl- cial circles as tendencious and whol- ly unfounded.
