SCHOOL FOR KEEP-FIT INSTRUCTORS

The Government is to set up a National College of Physical Edu- cation in Surrey for the train- ing of instructor-leaders for Bri- tain's fitness drive. The National Fitness Council, in a memorandum dealing with the provision of full- time leaders, states that a site has already been secured. The success of giving training, to those who have left school, the memorandum says must be largely dependent on the provision of instruction of a high standard.

TURKEY ORDERS SUBMARINES

Vickers-Armstrong have secured an order from the Turkish Govern- ment for four submarines to be built at Barrow-on-Furness.
