Hockey Tourney

Forty teams have entered. for the Six-a-side hockey competition, organised by Hong Kong Hockey Association, the draw for which was made yesterday.

The tournament is divided into four sections, as designated by the respective grounds upon which the early matches are played. The winners of each section meet in the semi-finals and final, which will be played on Club's ground.

The winners of each first round will meet in the second

match round.

Each section has 10 teams, and the section competition will pro- gress on the ordinary knock-out lines.

All matches, including the final, will be played off on Sunday, April 2. First round matches will com- mence at 2 p.m. sharp, and teams which are not on the grounds at that time will be disqualified. Second round matches will mence at 2.30 p.m.

Each team will provide two balls, and each player will turn up with a white shirt, together with his own Club colours.

Should the grounds be unfit for play, it will be so published, and the absence of such notice means that the competition is to be play- ed.

Although the fact that they were not extended in any way makes an estimate of their form a somewhat doubtful proposition, they neverthe-.. less showed compléte confidence in all departments and have added strength to their combination. They were occasionally, caught on the wrong foot through both going for lobs but in the few fast exchanges, they were as solid as a wall.

LOSERS FLOUNDER

Rumjahn and Hussain tried their best but were completely outclassed: The Tauis, when they felt so in- clined, speeded up the exchanges to such an extent that the Indian pair were left floundering.

In the only other open match down for decision, Major F. C.. Nottingham and Capt. R. B. Lecky received a walk-over from Lieuts Mizra and Afzal.
