RUMANIA HAS RETAINED HER ECONOMIC FREEDOM

NO POLITICAL CLAUSE IN

TRADE TREATY

London, To-day.

The Rumanian Government had informed the Bri- tish Government that the German-Rumanian trade agreement contained no political clause and that Rumania had not signed away her economic independence, declared the Prime Minister, Mr. Neville Chamberlain, in the House of Commons yesterday in a statement on the agreement.

At the end of his statement, Mr. Chamberlain said
