er, I suggest King's Lead, that type of pony which can win if it will take it into its head to run,
In the Blue Mountains Plate, over
14 miles, Devonian ran a remarkably fine race and was only beaten by # superior animal in Happy Landings. In view of Chiltern's inclination to bore out, I think Devonian has a grand opportunity of winning its first race for Lady Northcote. In the case of Ruby Star, I cannot understand why it has been such a dismal failure. It was openly talked about as being one of the best among this year's Austra lian ponies. but it has not yet come up to expectations.
