Pigeons are to play an important. part in air defence in the event of hostilittes. The Air Ministry has compiled a "National Register". of breeders of bombing pigeons who have promised to hand over their birds to the Royal Air Force when the country needs them, Already the R.A.F. has a number of pigeons "on the strength" and the main use of pigeons in wartime would be to supplement wireless appara.. tus.
