OFFICIAL DENIAL OF C BRITISH INTERVENTION TO SECURE SPANISH TRUCE

London, To-day.

The British Government has made no representa- tions to the Spanish authorities concerned in favour of an armistice, declared the Foreign Under-Secretary, Mr. R. A. Butler, replying to questions in the House of Commons yesterday afternoon.

Mr. Butler added that the Government was watch- ing the situation but did not consider it advis- able at present to take responsibility of spon- soring any particular terms of settlement.

MIAJA PROCLAMATION MR. BUTLER
