The youngest "police force" în Great Britain is to be, found at Norwich. HOW NOT TO PAY INCOME TAX

An "easy way" of squaring-up income tax was revealed at the Mansion House Police Court re- cently. The Lord Mayor had issued commitment warrants against 20 income tax defaulters, the terms imposed varying from the legal minimum of 5 to the maximum of 42 days..

"When a person goes to prison for defaulting," asked the Lord Mayor of the collector, Mr. V. M. Bailie, "does that wash the thing out altogether?" Just the question everyone else in court wanted to ask.
