PILOT KILLED IN 400 M.P.H. DIVE
'Plane Buried 20ft. Deep
Pilot Officer T. H. K. O'Brien, of the 87th Fighter Squadron, R.A.F., stationed at Debden, Essex, was killed when the Hawker Hurricane monoplane he was piloting crashed near the aerodrome at a speed of more than 400 m. p. h.-
The plane buried itself in the ground to a depth of more than 20- ft, sending showers of earth high into the air. Pilot Officer O'Brien was buried with the 'plane.
