AZANA SEEKING SPANISH ARMISTICE?
Perpignan, To-day. The Republican President, Azana, has become the central figure of multitude of unconfirmed
rumours.
In the absence of official in- formation on the whereabouts of Senor Azana, some sources de- clare that he is in Toulouse for important political conferences.
According to`other reports, Azana is staying near the Cata- lan frontier in Boulou awaiting an emissary from General Franco to discuss terms of armistice.
The only concrete news avail- able about the Republican Presi- dent, is the session of the Re- publican Cabinet in Figueras on Saturday when Azana was com- missioned to negotiate with France regarding the future of the Spanish fugitives in France. Trans-Ocean.
