Newman's Fine Effort Of 908

Tom Newman was unfortunate not to make the first thousand break of the season in his billiards match with Melbourne Inman at Thurston's, London. He was going wonderfully well when he lost the white at 857, and eventually broke down at 908. He had the satisfac- tion, however, of recording the highest break so far this season, which, however, has been; devoted - almost solely to snopker.

Newman made his break at his first innings, and was at the table. for exactly an hour. He is conced- ing Inman 4000, start.
