Perpignan, To-day. Scenes of frightful panic were witnessed in the one kilometres long tunnel between the Spanish frontier town Fort Bou and the French town Cerbere.

Because of a rumour that National Spanish troops had landed at Fort Bou and were occupying the town, militiamen, and a large number of civilians, men, women, and children, fled in panic into the tunnel, endeavouring to reach the French border.

British Aircraft Production Now 400 a Month

WOMAN IN ASIA HOTEL RAID FROM NEW YORK

As a sequel to the raid carried out on Friday night at the Asia Hotel by Miss P. Harrop of the Secretariat for Chinese Affairs during which an American girl was found on the premises, three per- sons were charged before Mr. R. A. D. Forrest at the Cen- tral Magistracy this morn- ing, with exercising control and influence over the move- ments and actions of a pros- titute by the name of Tam Lin-chui, alias Yuet Ming, alias Helen Wong.

The defendants were Wong Chat-mui, aged 45, ried woman, residing at No. 5, Wo Fung Street, former- ly of New York, Chan Fa Yuen, aged 52, a married woman, of No. 3, Possession Street, and Wong Kong.

Inspector E. G. Poat was in charge of the case and asked for a week's adjourn- ment, saying a considerable amount of papers had to be .translated.
