Frederick Willing, describing himself as a Dutch subject of British descent, gave further evid- ence at the resumed hearing of the China Arms] Case at Old Bailey yesterday.
Willing, who is appearing on charges of fraud. with his son and Dennis Corrigan, said he had join- ed his son's business as adviser in 1936.
He had known Corrigan for about fifteen years, see- ing him at race courses in Belgium, where Cor- rigan was well known.
He did not do any business with
Corrigan. "We just raised our hats
when we met."
Speaking of the arms deal, he
was furious when his son informed him that Laffitte's £5,250 had been handed to Corrigan in cash against Chou's receipt.
