London, To-day.

A National Service Rally of 9,000 representatives of London civil defence organisations was held at the Albert Hall last night.

Speeches were delivered by the Minister for Civil- ian Defence, Sir John Anderson, and by Mr. Herbert Morrison, Leader of the London Coun- ty Council and Chairman of the L.C.C.'s A.R.P. Committee.

Sir John Anderson, whose speech was punctuated alternatively with cheers and shouts of "What about shelters," said that those who were responsible for civil defence would undergo the samė risks in war as the fighting services.
