Beauty and You
by PATRICIA LINDSAY
Oily Hair Reflects Diet Deficiencies
If anyone knew how to preserve if she can possibly dò so, wait a hair, to keep it gloriously luxuriant full month before getting a sham- and fluffy, until we were very old, poo. She must no resort to drying that person would not only be the richest man alive but the most famous of our time!
For close to man's love of him- self, is the love of his hair! Each
one of us, during moments of
vanity, wishes ardently that our hair had its pristine glory intact! And we go to all sorts of effort to try to regain its lost beauty.
SCIENCE GETTING TO FACTS
Gradually science is getting down to the facts of hair nourish- ment and health. They know that hair beauty comes from an active and well fed blood stream. So those of you who have scalp ail- ments must look to your health programme. Do the foods you eat supply what the hair needs? Do you exercise, and massage and brush your scalp, to permit your bloodstream to carry that nourish-. ment to the numerous hair roots?
OILY SCALP VICTIMS HAVE PROBLEM
Surprising as it may seem to you the oily scalp requiries the
same
vigorous treatment that a falling hair condition does.
Due to the over-activity of the minute oil glands at the roots of the hair the scalp is clogged and the hair itself is starved for na- tural oil. Thus it becomes dry, brittle and discoloured.
And to add to the obvious con- dition, the girl with an oily head, shampoos much too frequently for scalp health. She must be patient and treat it for at least two weeks without letting water touch it, and
rinses, and too astringent lotions or tonics. But she must be sen- sible and eat a well balanced diet, get more exercise and buy herself a good, flexible, long bristled brush. It may cost her three dollars and fifty cents or five dollars but if she wishes to have fluffy, lovely hair she will get one even though she econo- mises on other things.
The healthy appetite of youth, regular outdoor activities and vigorous brushings, keep DOROTHY MOORE'S hair fluffy and manageable. Incidentally good menus and exercise also keep her skin radiant.

NEW LEAFLET FOR YOU Because the care of an oily scalp is detailed, I have prepared a lea- flet on its care. It attempts to cor- rect your diet, inspire you to exer- cise and tells you what local, ex- ternal treatment is considered the best by the leading scalp special- ists. You may have it by sending a stamped (3-cent), self-addressed envelope to me care of this paper. 1⁄2 large grapefruit.
