TOWARDS

Fighting Resumed On Many Fronts In China

Chungking, To-day. After a comparative lull caused by rain and snow, fighting has been resumed on many fronts, ac- cording to military advices received here. It is admitted that Changkungtu, strategic crossing on the Siu River in north Kiangsi, has again been lost to the Japanese. Japanese forces pushing northwestward to King- shan from Taoshih, north-west of Hankow, have failed to make much headway owing to strong Chinese resistance.

Fighting is still raging in the vicinity of Kingshan. The Japanese are bringing up large numbers of reinforcements. The claim to have occupied the town is

denied.
