CONSIDERATION

(By "STICKS”)

I learn that the 37 players who have been invited to attend the Club ground on Sunday, January 22, for the first Interport hockey trial, were not nominated by their res- pective Club captains, but by members of the Interport Selection Committee, as a result of performances in H.K. H.A. Tournament games and friendly encounters. Last week, when I published the list of names, it struck me as

With the approach of the visit of the Malayan Rugby Union side, a selection committee of three, who are no longer on the active rugger list, one each from the Army, Navy and Club, have been nominated and are Capt. Proes, (Army) Lt. Cmdr, Helbert (Navy) and Dr. Selby (Club).

The selectors will watch next Saturday's International games and will then nominate the men whom they wish to appear in the Possi- bles v. Probables match on the following Wednesday,

The new Central British Clubhouse, which is an added amenity to the Co- lony's sporting Institutions, will be officially declared open by Mrs. W. L.. Handyside at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan- uary 22. The Central British Associa- tion, originally a hockey Club, have branched into many sporting activities and run teams in the tennis League, Caer Clark Cup and Brawn Cup Leagues, the Hong Kong Hockey Asso- ciation Tournament and the Hong Kong Baseball and Softball Leagues.
