UNDER INVESTIGATION
London, To-day.
The mystery of a diplomatic valise (the nature of which hitherto has not been disclosed) is re- vealed in an authoritative statement. The statement says that a package, containing in- criminating matter, was found by the Spanish frontier authorities at Irun in a consular bag despatched from the British vice-consul at San Sebastian to the British Embassy at St. Jean- de-Luz.
A full investigation is being made by the Nationalist authorities in Spain with the co-operation and assistance of the British authori- ties on the spot.
Although Mr. Harold Goodman, the vice-consul at San Sebastian, was himself carrying the package referred to, no suggestion is made in any quarter that he is otherwise in any way personally implicated in the incident.-Reuter.

The Argentine and Brazil repre- sentatives did not attend the meet- ing, but asked to be kept inform- ed of progress.
The
Dr. position following Schacht's visit to London was ex- amined, and Reuter learns, it was felt that however unpromising cer- tain aspects of the German propos- als are, nothing should be done to of the ne- prejudice continuation gotiations.
GERMAN ATTITUDE
The German Government is ap- parently prepared for further dis- the cussion, and the director of committee, after getting into touch with the thirty-two Evian powers, may visit Germany in January.
However, the viewpoint of some quarters is that there must be mo- dification of the Nazi plan before the conversations are continued.- Reuter.
